Present past

Do ALL native speakers know how to use the past perfect tense? I believe a lot of them just stick with the simple past tense when speaking. What about those who are not educated but only know one language their whole lives?

PreciousJones Do ALL native speakers know how to use the past perfect tense? I imagine that all native speakers know at least one or two common uses of every tense in the language even if they might not necessarily regularly venture into the more literary usages in their daily lives. I doubt there are many native speakers (percentage-wise) who even know what "past perfect" means, but that doesn't mean they don't understand the past perfect when they hear it.
