I disagree with you for case of yelling. How yelling can be gerund when you describe gerund as a nounlike word.

Yelling does not seem as a noun to me in that context.

It depends: if you mean 'around' as an adverb then you are right; if you mean 'around' as a preposition then it is a gerund. To be sure that 'yelling' is a present participle you need a comma: Racing around, yelling.

Please be aware that this is a fragment. By itself, it means zero. But simply judging it's placement in the fragmented sentence, both are used as present participle. For example: I saw Mary yesterday busy running

I couldn't agree more. That's exactly what I mean. But the author of the original post asked me about "yelling" in his "Racing around yelling". I've put the comma after the "Racing" thus using both "Racing" and "yelling" as present participles.
