Hi all,

Here is a tense question that I found a little difficult for me. Which one is the correct option here?

1- After the birth of her second child, working from home ---- a real advantage for her.

A) proves

B) has proved

C) is proving

I need an explanation. Thank you.

Can't we say 'proves to be' here?

In my opinion, "has proved a real advantage" and "has proved to be a real advantage" are equivalent and equally acceptable.

However, as far as the whole sentence is concerned, if that tense is to be used I would prefer "Since the birth of her second child, working from home has proved (to be) a real advantage for her."

I am not surprised that you ask(ed) that.
The simple present tense is a literary style of writing, and the other two choices are more standard ways of writing that.
