If I called my friend john yesterday and he told me that he is sick. Next day our friend sarah asked about him should I tell her "I called him yesterday and he told me he was sick" Or "I called him yesterday and he told me he is sick"
Should I use the present because it is a fact?
Note: He is still sick.
Please correct me if I made any grammatical mistake in my question.
