Present continuous

Hello,

Present Continuous tense is used form temporary events/actions.

1. He is playing cricket now.

Does it suggest a temporary action, though it may happen for some duration?

Hi, Hanuman, hanuman_2000 Does it suggest a temporary action, I think "Yes". And present simple is contrasted with the present continuous in situations like those. The present continuous suggests that something is more temporary or less permanent , whereas present simple suggests that something is more permanent or less temporary .
