Hi, would like some help understanding the usage of is or are in a phrase that would in the present continuous tense! I was told that I must use a "ing" verb in there but I'm not sure...
I must ask a question in the present continuous... Is the following example any good?
Are there any special events going on down in Rio at this time of year?
The question I must formulate, goes like this; I question in the present continuous tense that is in relation to a trip or a holidaythat the person, to who I'm talking to, went on.
Thank you very much for your help

Your example is very good. "are going on" is present continuous, and you used it correctly in a question. CJ
