Can anybody tell whether the following two sentences are correct:

1) This car is designed by Tom
2) This car has been designed by Tom

As for me there is no difference between them. Anonymous This car is designed by Tom The fact, which could be claimed on the conference or presentation. Anonymous 2) This car has been designed by Tom The same thing, can describe that he has recently finished designing.
