Vocabulary

Present

Hi,

There is a sentence like this:

But El Nino would also present a patchwork of benefits as a gift.

I wonder the meaning of the word present. Does it equal to show or can it be replaced by show in here?

Hope you can do me a favor. Thanks!

I suppose "show" works as a rough substitute here but "put forth" or even "showcase" is a better substitue for "present."
