In my dectionary the word prepossessing means -interesting, noticeable, attractive.

Can the word "prepossessing" be used to describe ideas, thoughts, comments, discovery, research, project...

I have never heard of this word before. It certainly is not a common word, at least not here in the U.S.

I came acrss the word "prepossessing" a number of times while reading "The Portrait of a Lady" by Henry James. Each time this word was used in conection with someone's appearance.

Well that explains it. No question Mr. James was a gifted writer. But a lot of the words he used in his works are not used in everyday conversation these days.
