Prepositions used with the word 'tight'

Is it correct to say, "I bought a pair of jeans which were too tight in the thighs". What prepositions should we use with tight so far as clothes are concerned?

Top answer

Yes, it's OK, but most of the time we would only say: I bought a pair of jeans which were too tight. You can add "in the waist", "in the hips", "in the calves" etc.

An American woman would most often say "in." It's just a habit, I suppose.
We would understand "around."
