Prepositions on or in

I have a question about 'on' and 'in'. Are ' Fill in the blanks' and 'Write the correct word in the blanks' both correct?Case 1: (the blank is between words)Fill in the blanks with the given words.Q1 There ____ is ..... Q2 ....Case 2: (the blank is at the end of the sentence)Find the mistakes in the sentences. Hi, I don't understand what you are asking. It would be easier if you showed the complete sentences, instead of just ellipses dots. I am also confused by why you are talking about both questions and cases.

I don't understand what you are asking.

It would be easier if you showed the complete sentences, instead of just ellipses dots.

I am also confused by why you are talking about both questions and cases. What's the difference?

OH, sorry!Is the following sentence correct? Write the correct answers in the blanks. Write the correct answers on the blanks.(Please note that the blanks are not between words. They are just separated lines at the end of the questions.)

'Blanks', nevertheless, are spaces within sentences, so: Write the correct answers in the blanks. If you change the vocabulary, you could use this: Write the correct answers on the blank lines.
