prepositions could change the meanning of sentences

For examples:

He threw the ball to me. (for me to catch)

He threw the ball at me. ( in order to hit me. He was angry with me)

He shouted to me ( to communicate with me)

He shoted at me ( Angry with me)

Spears, McGraw Hill's Dictionary of American Idioms and Phrasal Verbs
read a page of it a day
and you'll make great progress.
