Prepositions at and from

Can I use the preposition "from" instead of "at" in the sentence "The apples I got at the store are bad"?

Top answer

From is sometimes used (perhaps even regional), but I like to think of it's being better used when actually talking about movement. I would use at here.

OK, Philip. I thought the idea was the same as the verb "buy". But if the verb were "buy", would it make any difference? I learned to say "buy something from a particular place".
