Prepositions and sentence structure

Would a teacher be so kind as to help me correct the following sentences?

We were able to use/turn that to/in our advantage.

This is the 3rd bus I've seen pass [by] in the other direction and I'm still waiting for mine.

It's a wash in terms of/as to how long it takes me to get home. The bus takes 20 minutes so does the subway.

Do you walk [up/on] escalators or do you stand [still] on escalators?

The statue of Liberty in Paris is big but it is small relative to the one in NY City.

Lets have lunch somewhere we have been [to].
