Dear Friends What is the correct sentence? 1. My documents are in  the Computer. 2. My documents are at the Computer. 3. My documents are on the Computer. Thnaks a lot! Robson

I'm curious. You posted exactly the same question on March 26th. (Although the original was posted anonymously, both that question and this one were signed "Robson"). Were the answers on your other thread not sufficient in some way?

It is not the same question. The previous question was different. What I posted: 12-18-2003 06:01 AM was: What is the correct: I am working on computer/on the computer; in computer/in the computer or at the computer? Today I posted different questions.

Ah well, in that case, the answers to the last question are still relevant to this one.

... but you definitely wouldn't want to be working IN the computer, unless you were very, very small!

Actually, "working on" is a phrasal verb, so you'd be "working on a project", and so on.

I think I may have accidently answered this question last time, and the the last question this time. Ah well.

Very well. I have always thought that "on" is the right preposition with things like:

- Save them on your computer.

- Files on your computer

- Pictures on the computer

- etc.

However, today I was shocked to find:

- The photo is now in the computer .

An image of a flower can be modified either in the camera or in the computer .

a list of valid external users and their telephone numbers would be stored in the computer .

It is because it is "inside" the computer.
the files are in the computer
