The floor was being swept by them.(change passive to active voice)

Or better yet, if you can try and make sentences in e-prime, that is to avoid the use of be verbs as they sound weaker. so instead of (passive) The floor was being swept by them we say The floor was swept by them and (active) They swept the floor instead of They were sweeping the floor.

E-prime is an artificial concept, used in natural conversation by extremely few native speakers. In fact, most native speaker have not even heard of it. The progressive aspect adds a shade of meaning. "They swept the floor" and "The floor was swept by them" do not mean exactly the same as "They were sweeping the floor" and "The floor was being swept by them". You cannot simple use the non-progress
