Prepositions

Hello,

Which preposition should be used with the words factory, office, hotel, etc?

'Do you work at/in an office?"
'No, I work at/in a factory.'

Thanks

Hi,

In most contexts, you work in a place.

If you want to specify a particular location ,you could say 'at'.
eg I work for IBM, at their office on Main street.

Clive is right. You can say: "I work in an office." or "I work at the office."
