Prepositional verbs

I came across an unfamiliar expression in a Michelob ad: bike off. I can easily guess the meaning from the context, but I haven't yet found it in idiom or slang dictionaries. I hear such expressions all the time, particularly prepositional verbs. Do English speakers often make them up?

Sometimes-- especially admen.

('Off' there seems to be an adverb, though.)
