Prepositional phrase as Indirect Object

Hi dear teachers,

I need your help with a few things, please.

Can a prepositional phrase function as Indirect Object in a sentence?

I have a sentence, for example:

-She gave some useful advice to us.

Is the prepositional phrase "to us" functions as the Indirect object in the above sentence?

Thank you!

She gave some useful advice to us . No: preposition phrases can't be indirect objects. The meaning is the same as in " She gave us some useful advice ", but the syntax is different in that the PP "to us" functions as complement of "gave".
