Preposition usage

It seems to me that there is a lot of incorrect usage of prepositions. Here is an example:

provide instructions on how to process

Is this incorrect?

I think a better way to put it is: provide instructions for processing

I also see a lot of "the below." Is this correct? Has it recently moved into acceptability?

Thank you!!!

There's nothing wrong with 'information on' or even 'information about'. I like your alternative though - it's good to be concise where possible. When it comes to correct/incorrect use of prepositions, you also have to take into account the different varieties of English.

  • As a British English speaker I'd say that 'different than' is wrong (it should be 'different from').
  • But I'm pretty sure that the American English speakers out there would completely disagree with me.
