Preposition to

Hello,

I want to know when I can use 'to the' in a sentence.

example:

I have to go to the park. vs I have to go home.

Why can't I use 'to the home'?

Thanks a lot

There are a few nouns-- which include home, church, school -- where you don't include the article. I'm going home. He's gone to church.

You can say "the church" but it means you went to the building, not to attend church services.
You can say "the school" but it means the school building itself and doesn't mean that she is attending classes there.
