"some meals were delivered past the promised date on New Year’s Eve."
I found that "the promised date" and "New Year's Eve" were the same day, when I read a translated sentence of the sentence above. Is it also possible to construe that "the promised date" is not "New Year's Eve"? That is, "the promised date" is a day prior to "New Year's Eve."
