Preposition of place "between"
Hi. Please help. Let's say there are three places, the library and the police station and the school, on a map. The police station and the school are next to each other in one block, and the library is in the other block. The two blocks are separated by a street. And all three places are lined up horizontally, with the library and the police station separated by a street. Is the police station between the library and the school? I hope I have described the positions of the places clearly.

I would not use "between" to give directions if one of the buildings was across the street.
It's next to the school, on the corner, and across the street from the library.
