Preposition in connection with study

Hi everybody,

I would like to ask which is the good form from the following ones:

1. Nowadays I'm studying on XY MSc course on XY faculty.

2. Nowadays I'm studying in XY MSc course in XY faculty.

3. Something else

I wouldn't like to use the 'I'm doing an MSc...' form if it is possible.

Thanks in advance

"... studying the XY MSc course with XY faculty."

For the faculty i would suggest you use "at". The course is more difficult. "study" is not normally used in conjunction with it I think. In fact "do a course" is the phrase I always use. If you want something that sounds a bit more fancy you could say "attend" a course, perhaps "participate" in a course, but that might shift the subjective meaning a little...

Hi,

People don't normally speak of an MSc as 'a course'. For one thing , it makes it sound too elementary.

Thank you very much for your help.

Clive: Thanks, I wil note it as a fact. How could you write it with a particular course name ("XY")? What is the appropriate preposition?

I just 'copied' the previous simple form from Oxford Advanced Learner's Dictionary:

Hi,

eg I'm doing an MSc in biochemistry.

'Biochemistry' here is a field of study, not a course.
