Preposition help?

Sentence: Today the market order was not working with some shares. Or.

Today the market order did not work for some shares.

Question:Which preposition will be correct to use in the above situation, for or with? The use of preposition with and for with the word work creates a lots of doubts and confusions. Kindly tell the difference between their meanings for better understanding. Emotion: smile
