Preposition before 'this' 'these' 'that' and 'those'

Someone told me that we should not put a preposition before 'this', 'these', 'that' and 'those'. It should be 'this week' instead of 'in this week'.
Can we say 'in these two weeks" or 'during these two weeks'?
Thank you.

During and within both sound fine to me. The use of in does sound awkward. I'm guessing it's just one of those prepositional hazards.

Can we say 'in these two weeks" Yes, but only in special situations..

The last two weeks of December is a holiday season in the US. In these two weeks, there are more airline bookings than in any other two week period in the year.
