Mr Gregory's solicitor produced two pieces of law - dating from 1925 and 1948 - which the judge adjourned the hearing to consider.

I found the line in "The Daily Mail".My question is -"shouldn't ' dating from 1925 to 1948 be here'?

Top answer

No. One piece of law dates from 1925 and the other dates from 1948.

The phrase 'pieces of law' sounds odd to me.

I'd expect 'points of law'.
