Preposition

Hello,.
I need to use the correct preposition on these sentences. I would be so grateful if someone is willing to help me correct it.
1. The wind is blowing among the woods.
2. It’s rather cold. She has her parka on with a hood upon.
3. The windows are beneath the car. The conditioning isn’t on. There is no air to breath.
4. I like to walk around the garden or across the alley.
5. I usually met him in the airport on the terminal or right at the runway.
6. He isn’t around. He is on the yard.

Thank you so much for your help, Clive. In my lesson, at is for 'a point', in is for enclosed space, and on is for a surface. So, I bit confused if a yard is an enclosed space or a surface.

It's usually an enclosed space.

I think that in prison movies they say 'on the yard' as prison slang.
