Preposition

Hi
What preposition is most preferred in the blank below:

"Sorry-we don't have a menu. Just point blank something on my apron."

I have a confusion between to and out.

Please help me out.

The above sentence was said by a waiter(who was wearing a dirty apron) to a customer.

Thanks
Prajwal

Hi,

More than one preposition is possible, but I'd say 'to' is the best choice.

Thanks, but may I know the reason?

Hi,

It's largely just idiomatic.
But here's my general feeling.

'Point to' - show clearly and directly
eg the teacher pointed to the student that he wanted to answer the question
