I really appreciate the support you've given me on trying to find a suitable apartment for me.

Which is the most natural and correct or are both incorrect?

I think I have already answered this somewhere, but I have changed my position, as I see that they can have 2 meanings: either the listener actually helped find the apartment or the listener encouraged the speaker to do so himself. Which do you mean?

Let's say both, would they require two different prepositions?

No; now I see that with 'for me' at the end, the listener must have actually been helping to locate an apartment:

I really appreciate the support you've given me by /in /zero preposition trying to find a suitable apartment for me.
