Predicate Adjectives

Would we hyphenate these predicate adjectives after the to-be verbs?

The technology is state-of-the-art.
The software is cutting-edge.

Also:

Any hyphens go in 'chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream'?

And what about in:

The assistant store manager trainee position has been posted.
(Good without hyphens? If not, where should they go?)

No rephrases, please.

These all seem to be good as presented. The first two examples require hyphens because they are complete idiomatic phrases, but the others aren't, and so don't. )

These all seem to be good as presented.

The first two examples require hyphens because they are complete idiomatic phrases, but the others aren't, and so don't. (Though I do see "chocolate-chip" sometimes in common use.)
