Prayers used to be read vs. were used to be ready

Greetings,

Any difference between the following and which one would people most likely use?

1. These prayers used to be read in church. They are not read anymore.

2. These prayers were used to be read in church. They are not read anymore.

My guess is that only No. 1 is correct.

My other question is this:

What's the passive of

- Priests used to sing hymns.

a. Hymns used to be sung by priests.

b. Hymns were used to be sung by hymns.

Again, my guess is the first one correct (a) and the other is wrong.

Thanks.
