Pray Him or pray to Him?

Hi. Please tell me if the phrase "I pray Him" is correct as to indicate that you are praying to God. Also, is it the same as the phrase "I pray to God"? I think both contents in quotes are phrases. I am sorry for not providing a complete example sentence. It is hard to come up with one sometimes. Thank you for your help in advance.

eg,
I pray Him that he will grant ...
