Practicing vocabulary with limited resources

Hi everyone, I am currently doing an online telf course and I am on a module dealing with teaching with limited resources. I will post the question and my answers and hopefully you can help me corrct them before I submit the module, also I would like to hear any ideas that you have yourself on how you would answer the question.

Thanks beforehand for your help.

You’re giving a speaking/vocabulary lesson. The topic is Occupations. Age – teenagers, level – pre-intermediate. Students know the basic present, past and future tenses. You have recapped the vocabulary of popular occupations + introduced a few new occupations. Flashcards prepared by the students have been used. Vocabulary has been drilled, taken down into students’ notebooks

Write some ideas how to practise the new vocabulary in class based entirely on the students’ own/their classmates’/teacher’s experience, and on their imagination. Do NOT include homework at this stage.

1. Role play.
Pair the students off and organize an interview role play where one student is looking for someone to do a job for them. The other student takes the part of the interviewee, the interviewee gives describes their occupation as well as their past experiences.

2. Problem solving.
I would take all the flash cards off the students then I would split the students into groups. I would pass out the flashcards out to students leaving out the cards that have the title of the occupation on them eg "Doctor" and leave the ones that have descriptions of the occupation in eg "cooks" or "performs surgery".

I would then tell the students that they are trapped on a island and they have to decide between them who has what responsibilities and what their occupations is. At the end i would go to each group and get each person to describe their responsibilities and what their occupation is.
