XerxesThis is not entirely clear to me, what you want, but I'd say the first sentence ("You must practice writing poetry analysis") is probably better.
I mean the idea in the bracket only.

I wrote this -I want the person to do the analysis in writing- just to mention what is the idea I wanted to convey.
