Practically = almost ?

- I recently started a job which requires working nights. My co-worker practically inhales cannned energy drinks to get through the shift.

- "practically" here means "almost", right? And I think "eat" is a better choice than "inhale", right? Emotion: smile

Yes, practically = for all practical purposes = almost. 'Inhales' is a better choice; it is hyperbole.
