power failure in bus?

Is the below sentence correct? Can a power failure happen in an air-conditioned bus? Thanks.

Halfway through the journey, the bus jerked. The bus driver announced that there had been a power failure and that we had to wait for about half an hour before power was restored.

If cannot, please change the sentence for me?
