powdery groomer ?

Hi guys,

It seems a ski term and a little bit difficut to figure out the meaning.
As i know, groomer is a vehicle to clear the snow and it doesn't make sense that skiers play on miles of those things. so...

Would you take a look at the sentence below and explain some for me?
