Hi
One guy was tormenting the other one by giving him electric shocks.
Later that night (the same guy who was given the electric shocks) after his heart and other organs had settled down from the pounding he was hooked to a polygraph.
Now, I'm wondering if "pounding" here refers to the electric shocks he was given or to the beating of his heart and other organs???
