Potter around

Is ‘potter around’ a common phrase?

For instance:

“I usually run myself rugged pulling weeds out of all the flowerbeds and sprucing up the garden, but this time I’m just going to potter around.”

“I stayed at home today and I just spend the afternoon pottering around.”

Thank you.
