Potentially useful

Hello!
I have two questions here:

1) Is it OK to say 'potentially useful'? It sounds awkward to me.
2)'out of hospital conditions' or 'out-of-hospital conditions'?

The TWG technique is potentially useful/may be used in emergency unit. It can also be used in out-of-hospital conditions and helicopter units where thoracic drainage is becoming a common procedure [11].

1) Is it OK to say 'potentially useful'? It's ok but it means something different to 'may be used'. You need to be clear on what you are trying to express.
