Potatoes

I'm afraid that this is a stupid enquiryEmotion: embarrassed

I know that I can say "boiled/ roasted/ fried potatoes"

Can I offer roasted potatoes by saying "Would you like some potatoes?" In other words, can I use just the word "potatoes" in order to refer to any kind of potatoes (i.e fried potatoes, roasted potatoes etc)
