Posturing

Does "posturing" in the following text mean "approach"?

text:
However, in contrast with the successful sensationalism that accompanied BritArt at the time, the surrounding hype seems to have worked against Kaye. There are, in effect, fundamental differences between Kaye’s posturing and that of the current generation of young British artists. As has often been noted, the contentious and provocative work of young British artists brought welcome publicity for the art world and for Charles Saatchi in particular. However, while some of the more prominent young British artists might be seen as cynical in their seemingly uncritical call upon themes of sex, violence and death, this is not, in my opinion, true of Kaye who engages with them as social issues. Moreover, Kaye was on notable occasions openly defiant towards such influential institutional forces within the art world as the Los Angeles Biannual and the UK’s Turner Prize.
