Vocabulary

Post/posting, find/finding

Hi,

Consider the following pairs:

-find/finding ( "It was an extremely interesting find/finding")

-post/posting ("This post/posting deserves a dozen likes!")

1) Is it true there is absolutely no difference between the two alternative nouns (with and without the '-ing')... meaning the examples above?

Perhaps you could give me more pairs of this kind? i.e. "noun"/ "noun+ing", where both nouns mean exactly the same thing in the specific context..

Hope my question makes sense...

vlivef -find/finding ( "It was an extremely interesting find/finding") "finding" and "find" are by no means synonymous. A "finding" is the conclusion or result of an investigation, or something like that. Unlike "find", it cannot refer to a physical object that has been discovered.
