Postcodes and flat numbers in British English

0 I have seen it both on the same line as the city as well as below. Which one is correct?02br

0The post office likes you to put the postcode on its own line as then it can be read by an automated scanner (and it gets confused if there is a word before it) and sorted more quickly.02br
