Possessive pronouns vs possessive adjectives

Hello! I recently learned more about possessive pronouns. I know that the possessive pronouns are : ours, yours, mine , theirs , hers, his. Why “its” is not a possessive pronoun? Is it a possessive adjective? I’m very confused.
