Not necessarily. You can put them in or leave them out.

Note: finish work ~ finish the day's work at your place of employment.
..........finish your work ~ finish a certain amount of work, not necessarily where you earn your salary.

1. A woman who works in a restaurant until 10 in the evening finishes work at 10.
2. A woman who has decided to do laundry and finishes the laundry at 2 finishes her work at 2.

For 1 you can substitute gets off work for finishes work.
For 2 you cannot make that substitution.
