I stayed at my aunt's place last year. (Possessive aunt's. The place that belongs to my aunt.)

It's good to know that you and your family are doing well. (Not possessive. It's = It is.)

It is good to know that your aunt's doing well. (Not possessive. aunt's = aunt is.)
