Positive plurals, it seems, are possible in Italian, Hebrew, Welsh, German, Estonian, Norwegian, Swedish, Kyldíl (??? @#$%^&*%$#@%) and maybe other languages, but I can't find any reference to them with regard to their use in English. In which country is this 3rd grade teacher?
