Is correct to say?

Moreover, 6 species are reported for the first time in the studied provinces

or

Moreover, 6 species are reported in the studied provinces for the first time

Is correct to use "reported" or not? ¿Are there any alternative to this word? Thanks for your help!!

Thank you for your answer, it is reported in the present and I this is used to comunicate the presence of these species in a scientific paper, so i think that reported could be used porperly.
